Is it Wednesday afternoon already?....hehehe....okay so it's Thursday morning. I know everyone can relate to wanting to get things done with the best of intentions but they don't actually happen. By the time I got the girls' haircut, had my meeting, made a few deliveries it's was 4:30 and then we were off to Brooke's quarter final soccer game.....WHICH THEY WON !!!!! Brooke scored one of the winning goals in the sudden death kick offs !!!!!!!! It was SO exciting !!!
So here we are today and I have my Recipe Class tonight (which I'm pumped for) but I wanted to make sure I posted the tutorial that I promised yesterday before today got away on me....which we all know will happen :)
I love tying bows on my cards but found they were more frustrating for myself and my customers. Here are two different ways to tie a bow on your card. I use the first method all the time because it's just a lot faster, uses less ribbon and really easy. I've also seen this done using a finger but I never seem to be able to find the right sized finger :)
Step #1 - My card was 4 1/4" wide so I made my ribbon length to be the same plus 3" (so it was 7 1/4") and tied the ribbon around the top of my Stampin' Mist bottle (double knotted and evenly spaced)
Here's another view:
Step #2 - Now just pull the ribbon off of the lid and take that loop that you've made and got through the centre of that loop (I cut on an angle so that I get a nice finished end)
Now just adhere it to your card....I find glue dots work the best.
The second method uses two pieces of ribbon. Your first piece will just wrap around the entire card and be taped at the back.....like so.
Now take a smaller piece of ribbon (mine is 6" long) and tie that piece around the first piece of ribbon wherever you would like the bow to be.
Here's a few pics of my finished card...I did a Z fold card (we canucks say Zed not Zee :)...The dimensions are easy...the base card is 11" x 4 1/4" and scored at 2 3/4" & 5 1/2"...Enjoy and thanks for stopping by !!

That is the coolest little trick I have ever seen with ribbon!! I love the knot around the bottle and snip...you are so clever! makes me want to go stamp right now and add ribbon! Thanks for sharing! :) super cute card too! :)

Thanks so much for sharing the wonderful tutorials. It helps me a lot. I have never seen the ribbon tying on a bottle trick. I need to try that and buy some of that new 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. Thanks for all the work!
